Project Overview

This bespoke scaffolding project involved constructing a self-contained office block complete with kitchen and WC facilities. Working from detailed design drawings, our team erected a scaffold steel structure using a Layher beam section to create a spacious open foyer and reception area. The project required precision to ensure the timber frames could be positioned perfectly and seamlessly tied into the scaffold structure, accommodating all necessary openings for windows, doors, and outlets.

Challenges and Solutions

The primary challenge was to build the structural frame while allowing for accurate integration of the timber elements. By carefully following the design drawings, all measurements were executed with precision to ensure a flawless fit. The lightweight nature of the scaffold structure eliminated the need for a concrete raft foundation, allowing the building to be constructed directly on the ground. This innovative approach not only simplified construction but also circumvented the requirement for planning permission, as the building was classified as removable.

Outcome and Client Satisfaction

The completed structure provided a cost-effective alternative to a traditional steel-framed, cladded building on a concrete foundation. By utilizing scaffolding solutions, the project was delivered at a third of the cost originally quoted by a steel structure company. The result was a high-quality, functional space that met all the client’s requirements and exceeded expectations, leaving us with a delighted customer.

Difficult Job as the access is so limited to my property, and had actually previous been refused by other more local company’s due to this. But the scaffolders that came worked hard, and completed the job just as the builder needed. Great lads, very polite and respectful. Great job all round.
